The merger of DBS Land and Pidemco Land in 2000 elicited sceptical reactions: one was originally a subsidiary of DBS Bank and the other, a spin-off of Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority. They had been competitors not only for Singapore projects but overseas ones as well, and there were worries about the fit in the combined entity. Five years on, the company has transformed itself into an international company, with property development projects in Asia, Australia Middle East and Europe, and a business reach that spans more than 90 cities in 28 countries.
