The result of a remarkable collaboration between East and West, this is a fascinating look at an ancient nation undergoing dramatic change. Here is the most intimate and comprehensive look at Vietnam ever assembled. Seventy photographers from 14 countries were given unprecendented access to a country emerging from decades of war and isolation.
Vivid images include a ride with thousands of pilgrims down the Swallow River to the Perfume Pagoda; the Hmong tribe in the northern highlands; the lingering effects of war on the people of Quang Tri Province. The photographs are complemented with essays on the survival of Vietnam, and the meeting of old ways with new.
