One of Malaysia’s most eminent watercolour artists, Chin Kon Yit has a particular affinity for the rustic charm of historical buildings, everyday street scenes and traditional trades in Malaysia. Born in Klang in 1950, Kon Yit draws inspiration from the noisy yet colourful and exciting environment he grew up in. He became a full-time artist in 1991. His work has been displayed in many exhibitions and published in books including Kuala Lumpur: A Sketchbook, Penang Sketchbook, Malacca Sketchbook, Landmarks of Selangor and Landmarks of Perak as well as in notebooks and on stationery and calendars.
