What matters most in life? Why do we do the things we do? How do we want to be remembered? Those were honest questions that drove Veronica Colondam to her calling.

Journey to Impact is the story of Veronica’s spiritual journey that shaped her inner thoughts and strength to impact millions of underprivileged youth. She has been creating sustainable change in their lives through social entrepreneurship, long before that term was even known in Indonesia.

In 1999, Veronica established the YCAB Foundation, which is dedicated to the betterment of children’s lives through education and financial assistance. As of January 2018, YCAB Foundation was ranked 40th on the list of the world’s top 500 NGOs as determined by NGO Advisor in Geneva.

This book will take you through her intricate yet candid journey as a young mother of three responding to her calling. Her hopes and dreams, pain and despair, brokenness and delights in her walk as a woman leader can be lonely and isolating at times. Her resilience has led her to rebuild what’s broken, to keep on going against all odds. Her undying spirit and relentless grit are so compelling as to inspire others to do just the same - that one will only live a life that matters when life is lived as the extension of the goodness to others. That’s how one will be remembered. That’s what true impact is really about.

Veronica Colondam is the founder and chief executive officer of YCAB Foundation. She holds double degrees in communication and public relations and an MSc. in social sciences from Imperial College London. She has also completed several leadership programmes including those offered by Harvard Kennedy School, Yale and MIT.

She has received many awards and abundant recognition for the work she has done with YCAB. She is the youngest-ever recipient of the UN-Vienna Civil Society Award, which she received in 2001. She became a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2006. She was made a fellow of the Asia Society's 21 Young Leaders in 2007 and a Global Social Innovator Park Fellow in 2008.

She was named among Globe Asia’s Most Powerful Women in Indonesia in 2007. Channel NewsAsia declared her Asia's Change Maker in 2009 and the Asian of the Year in 2010, and Forbes named her one of the 10 Most Inspiring Women in Indonesia and one of their Asia’s 48 Philanthropists, both in 2015. She won the Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011, and the Schwab Foundation’s Social Entrepreneur in 2012. She was named as one of the UN Solution Makers in 2017.
